Hello.
I’m Jo Mortimer, a proofreader, copyeditor and grant writer based at the foot of the South Downs in the UK.
I work with publishers, authors, creatives and organisations to bring clarity and confidence to their words, while preserving their unique voice.
I hold a BA in English and Creative Writing, alongside an MA in Paris Studies: History and Culture.
Before moving into proofreading and copyediting, I spent 25 years working in psychiatric and SEND provisions, as well as with an international refugee support charity. In 2020, I founded our village library — a deeply rewarding ongoing community project.
I was brought up on a small farm in Sussex, a place I dearly love. I’m also a keen collager and currently writing my first novella.
If you’re looking for thoughtful, careful support with your writing project, I’d love to hear from you.
